Wooden Deck Saloon Yacht

This 32′ Wooden Deck Saloon Yacht is a Bermudan Sloop designed by Illingworth and Primose.  Constructed from African Mahogany under Cascova sheathing for a near maintenance free hull. A £34,000 refit completed and she is now ready to sail away.  Kari II is a  Bermudan Sloop that sleeps 6 and has interior and exterior helm positions.  She was built for sailing off the West coast of Scotland.  Powered by a Perkins 48hp engine that was re-built in 2008 with only 74 hours running since the work was completed.  The standing and running rigging were replaced in 2012.  Currently ashore awaiting her next adventure.  The owner tells us he has every receipt since 1968.

Kari II is a Wooden Deck Saloon Yacht that was commissioned by the owners father.  Angus Primrose was a friend of the family and described the craftsmanship of the sloop to be of a very high standard, adding that ‘many shipyards down south would be put to shame if they had a look at Kari II.’  The survey in 2005 supported this assessment when very little work was found to be needed , despite her age.

She was laid up from 1980 to 1995, she was passed down the family and we have enjoyed her from 1997 as a family boat until 2005 when a complete refit commenced.  Re- launched in 2011 she has not been used this season due to the owners injury but she is ready for immediate use.

With children now grown up and a growing collection of classic cars there has sadly been less use of Kari II.  It is with some sadness that we must let her go to a new family who will have the immense fun we have had with her over the years.

With excellent protection from the elements provided in a light and spacious main cabin where one can helm from, with dual engine controls, Kari II is perfect for the UK climate giving shelter from our weather and enabling year round sailing.

Westerly Konsort

Just lifted in after a winter ashore this Westerly Konsort is looking well cared for and the owner almost withdrew her from the market today he was so impressed!

The Westerly Konsort was designed by Laurent Giles as a mid-sized boat between the 26 foot Centaur and the Longbow/Berwick/Pentland 31 foot range.  She was introduced in 1979, and remained in production until 1992/93, with over 800 built.

Second Ace is a  bilge keeled example of this ever popular family cruiser. Her economical 20hp Bukh diesel  gives  5/6 knots cruising speed under power.

She has a sloop rig, furling genoa and slab reefing mainsail with stack-pack and lazyjacks. Well equipped with Radar, GPS, VHF, Autopilot and Wind, Depth and Log instruments.
Comfortable accommodation for six in 2 double and 2 single berths. Just launched after wintering ashore.  Antifouled and anodes replaced.  Ready to sail away!

Moody 27

   Moody 27 for sale.   A bilge keel example of this popular family cruiser.  Very well maintained and well loved.  The owners have now upsized to a larger Moody.  This is an ideal ‘first time’ boat for those who like to crusie in safety and comfort.

The owner says, Juliet jay is my pride and joy and I have had more fun from her than anything I have ever owned.  I will be heartbroken to part with her.’

The 2009 survey report on this Moody 27 said, ‘a sound and well found vessel in very good condition.’

She was designed at a time when boats were made stronger than necessary but she still looks like a modern yacht and will give good service for many years to come.

She comes with copper coat antifouling, with 5 years left on the guarantee.  Her engine has been serviced every year.  She had a new propellor and a rope cutter fitted in 2012.  The standing rigging was also replace in 2012.  The sails are all in servicable condition.

She is also equipped with a new GPS plotter and IAIS digital yacht WiFi as well a a comprehensive full inventory.

This Moody 27 will easily sleep 5 in 1 double and 3 single berths.  She is currently ashore at Noss Marina in Dartmouth.  Juliet Jay is ready to go to a new home and just awaits lifting in to be sailed away.

Etap 21i

Etap 21i for sale. Luisa Sheryl was built in 2006 and fitted with every conceivable extra. She is a very stiff little boat with excellent thermal insulation due to her double skin structure which makes her unsinkable and practically condensation free.

The Etap 21i is certified as ‘unsinkable’ by the French Merchant Marine, this Belgian built boat justifies its sporty appearance with responsivness and a turn of speed that will appeal to dinghy sailors changing to cruising.

The cockpit is huge and has spacious lockers with generous seating.  The galley straddles the cabin on the port side with a two burner stove. The ingeneous infil for the v  berth doubles as a cover for the loo.  The setees extend under the cockpit seats to provide full length berths.  The table is large enough for chart work and will seat four.

This Etap 21i is fitted with 8hp longshaft outboard engine and the optional Tandem keel which gives her a draft of only 0.7m. Ideal for exploring rivers and creeks and also easily trailerable. A 4-wheel trailer is included in the sale.

Cornish Crabber 22

The Cornish Crabber 22 is an ideal small family boat for coastal and estuary cruising, and will Sleep 4 in surprising comfort for a boat of this size. Tyler 26 Day Fishing Boat

This Tyler 26 day fishing boat is a really handsome 26 footer with a Beta Marine 50 hp diesel engine fitted in 2010 with only just over 110 hours running.  She will cruise happily at 6 knots.  Ideal for River, Coastal and Estauary fishing and cruising.  Lots of deck space for equipment and catch (with live bait well).  ‘Elizabeth’ underwent a major £10,000 refit in 2013 which included wheel house windows, fibregalss sheathing of decks , repainting and rewiring.

C-Kip 40 Europa Trawler Yacht

‘Merry Mary’ is  a C-Kip 40 Europa Trawler Yacht  that has had extensive work carried out since her purchase and import from the USA (when vat was paid).  As part of the RCD compliance the engines were changed to Fords which now have just a few hundred hours on their clock.

The starboard fuel tank was replaced and the engine room was repainted and completely sound proofed. The fuel set up was renewed with twin (switchable) Racor filters for each engine. New engine start batteries and a house bank set were installed with a sterling digital battery charger.  All new sea cocks and strainers were fitted.  All domestic freshwater plumbing was renewed and a new calorifier and a new freshwater pump. A new Tecma electric toilet with macerator was fitted.

The interior was completely refurbished with new wiring and lining with american ash faced ply.  New lighting throughout together with a new four-speaker sound system in the saloon.  New 240v sockets were also installed throughout and a new “entertainment centre” installed in the saloon on the starboard side complete with shelving for DVD’s and room for a 36″ flat screen TV linked to a new aerial on the mast.  The galley benefited from a new sink, taps, plumbing, water filter, work top, oven, microwave & fridge.

In late 2008 she was relaunched and moved to Plymouth where she was lived aboard until late 2010/early 2011.   As a  liveaboard she is incredibly comfortable and offers everything you would expect of any home, and more.  Easy to heat, clean and manage she is ideal for this role and on top of that she also provides the ability to go cruising whenever you want.

This C-Kip 40 Europa trawler yacht is worth a look if you are looking for a bright, spacious liveaboard  or a comfortable Motor Cruiser with the extra dimension of a flybridge.

Etap 23

‘Elbreth’ was built in 1984 and is an Etap 23 with the usual Etap outer and inner GRP moulds with a closed cell foam between -which makes Etap’s unsinkable and also prevents condensation.

This Etap 23 comes with an 8hp Yamaha outboard engine and a recently serviced road trailer.

The lifting keel is very useful in shallow water.

The interior is finished in mahogany veneer with brass fittings and red upholstery and has a saloon with settee berths on either side and a ‘V’ berth in the forepeak spearated by a curtain.

This is an ideal starter boat that is transportable, has a high standard of build quality together with the security of it’s unsinkable hull.

Westerly Ocean Ranger

‘Braveheart’  is a Westerly Ocean Ranger built in 1996 by Westerly Yachts.  She was epoxy treated in 2001.  Her teak laid decks do need recaulking in some small areas and she has a teak cockpit sole and seating.  She easily sleeps seven in three cabins (including the saloon).  The layout is particularly attractive for two couples when the saloon is left unused for sleeping.

At 38 feet the Westerly Ocean Ranger is a serious passage maker but is not two big for handling in harbours or marinas.

She is under only her third ownership since new and has been well cared for.

Her inventory includes Eberspacher heating,  full navigation and safety equipment together with a wind generator.  All sails are in good condition and have been serviced regularly.

Dufour 36

We are pleased to be offering this Dufour 36 for sale.  She is currently ashore very close to our office.  ‘Ocean Lotion’ has been in the same ownership since new and her owner has looked after his boat very well and she has an air of being cared for. She has been used for family cruising and has always been wintered ashore.  For sale now due to the owners retirement from sailing.  She is a very easy boat to handle by a couple or single handed.

This Dufour 36 was built in France in 2002 and is the three cabin version, with two double aft cabins, teak cockpit seating and a lead fin keel.  All the standing rigging was replaced in 2002.

If you utilise the saloon, she could sleep 8, although there is only one heads compartment, the large dining table could certainly seat that many.

Dick Durham said in his review in Yachting monthly ‘designed for family cruising she is fast enough for competitive sailors’.

Westerly Merlin

Westerly Merlin 28 for Sale.  A really tidy and well presented example of the well known Westerly Merlin.  Samannaga has bilge keels so is ideal for cruising around the coast and estuaries.  There is a large double aft cabin together with double berth in forepeak, so well suited to a family or two couples. Sleeps 6.

The Westerly Merlin 28 was the second design that Westerly commissioned from Ed Dubois, with the aim of higher performance and a more modern hull form than the Laurent Giles designed Konsort. Although smaller than a Konsort, the Merlin has what may for most people be a better interior. The Merlin is also regarded as being generally faster than the Konsort.

In current ownership for two years.  Engine was serviced last year.  Realistically priced. Currently ashore in South Devon.
